Sunday Sauce

Last year I started following a group on Facebook from the New Jersey area thanks to my cousin Mike. I learned about what “Sunday Sauce” was. It is a marinara with pasta and meatballs or sausage and peppers, but you typical red sauce with pasta.

My daughter Dalanie loves Spaghetti and Meatballs. So I cam up with my own “Sunday Sauce.” This “Sunday Sauce” you can have on a any day that ends in “Y.” I hope you all enjoy this as much as my family does.

Sunday Sauce

Ingredients

4 tablespoons of butter or margarine

1 tablespoon of Olive Oil

1 small onion Chopped

5 cloves of garlic chopped

2 15 oz cans of Diced Tomatoes

2 15 oz cans of Tomato Sauce

1 6 oz can of Tomato Paste

2 tablespoons of Italian Seasonings

2 tablespoons of sugar

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 pound of Pre-made Frozen Italian Meatballs (I like the ones from Sam’s Club)

1 Pound of pasta of your choice

Directions

In a Dutch Oven or slow cooker or foodi pot on sear, add butter and olive oil. Then add onion and garlic and sauté until soft.

Then add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian Seasonings, sugar and salt and pepper to taste.

After allowing the mixture to cook, then grab your immersion blender or potato masher or if you like the rustic style, leave it. (I use my immersion blender because of my daughter.)

Then after it is well blended or mashed or left as you like it, then add the pre-made frozen meatballs and set it too low for at least 4 to 5 hours.

Then serve with your favorite Pasta and Enjoy!
